vanpool

Joining a Vanpool can be cheaper and faster than driving alone.  It makes perfect sense at many destinations in and around downtown.

And it's easy!

Puget Sound transit agencies provide the wheels and help to get you going. They can be as flexible as you want, because you and the people in your pool make up the rules. You decide where to meet and when. You can even take a free cab ride home in the case of an emergency or an unexpected event comes up during the workday.

Regardless of the vehicle size your group needs, the transit agency provides the van, insurance and maintenance to keep your vanpool running in tip-top shape. Comfortable passenger vans are equipped with Front and rear air-conditioning, AM/FM radio, reading lights, tinted windows and bike rack.

You will save money on parking and gas, save time as you zip by congestion in the carpool lane and reduce wear and tear on your personal vehicle by sharing the ride.

Ridematch can help you find vanpool partners from anywhere in the region:

  • Visit http://www.rideshareonline.com/, or call the Rideshare Hotline at 1-888-814-1300 (TTY users: 206-684-1855) to get a list of interested people with commutes similar to yours.
  • Post notices at work and talk to your co-workers
  • Publicize your new vanpool through the transportation coordinator at your worksite.
